Why do I paint in black and white?
For years I tried all kinds of styles. From drawing, charcoal, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, etc ... each technique has its own uniqueness and charm. Works that are more colorful, warmer or on the other hand finer or more precise works. As soon as I started painting in black and white, something else opened up.
How do I work?
Trying to put music on Paul Volume in the headphones neutralizes distractions and focuses me on doing. Whether it's drawing or writing. Over time I have made playlists for myself from which I choose which playlist will work for me. Usually loud and loud music. Booms to the ears.
Then there are two options, either I have in mind something I want to draw or I do not have. If I have I go straight to the paper and I start painting.
In case I do not have a situation or object in mind, I start looking for referents (usually Pinterest) that will give me ideas. Sometimes looking at a few references can light up an idea that turns me on. If not I'm just copying the image I see. Just to practice lines, spots that create figures and objects.
I usually like to draw people, faces, body silhouettes but it does not require .. Sometimes I have a desire for other objects.
The principle that accompanies me is to develop and increase my ability. The control of the hand in pencil.
